These Are Dangerous Mountains Only For the Daring to Climb
Mountaineering has remained to be one of the outdoor fun activities. It is however not an activity that is for all people. It is a sport meant only for those who have the confidence to go to the peak of the mountain. Only those who have the confidence to go those peaks can participate in this fun activity. Reaching the summit of the mountain is the highest achievement that a climber will ever have. It should however not be lost to you that mountaineering is not all about fun. It is a very risky sport and remains to be deadliest. As they try to climb mountains, many people have lost their lives due to collapsing and such other risks. Various accidents have made others maimed. If you truly love mountain climbing, you don’t have a reason to fear nevertheless. If you are not very skillful in mountain climbing, then don’t try to climb one of these dangerous mountains on the earth.
The deadliest mountain on the earth is the Mont Blank Massif. It boasts of 15782 ft and is the tallest on the alpine range. Year in year out, climbers have been dying due to rocks slides and steep rocks. This is the mountain with the highest number of fatalities causing deaths to about 100 people per year. 6000 people have since died as they climb this mountain. Thanks to the success of President Theodore Roosevelt who climbed it in 1886, the mountain is very popular.
The second dangerous mountain on the earth is the Annapurna. It has a height of above 26,246 ft. Climbers from everywhere are attracted by the Nepal Annapurna which is the tallest peak. 191 people have successfully climbed this mountain since 1950. As climbers try to reach the summit of Annapurna, 60 people have since died. It is regarded as the most dangerous in all mountains with 8000-meter peaks.
K2 is another mountain under focus and is the second tallest mount on the earth. The mount is located on the Pakistan-china border and boasts of 28,251 ft. It is easier to climb Kilimanjaro but not K2. Even when you choose the easiest route, you will face ice pillars that can collapse, steep rocks and complicated glaciers. This mount seems to be biased against female climbers. Six women had tried to climb the mountain and five of them died since year 2003.
Nanga Parbat is another mountain in this category and is known as the man eater. The mount is located in Pakistan and has a height of 26657ft. The mountain features an enormous range of ice and rock. It is the ninth tallest mountain in the world and has the tallest mountain face. By 1953, 31 climbers have been claimed on this mountain.
